NTA Confirms: JEE Main 2026 Exam Date Won’t Be Rescheduled In Case of Clash With Other Exams
NTA clarifies in its FAQs that the JEE Main 2026 exam dates will remain fixed even if they coincide with state or national-level exams. Know what this means for students.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced its decision on the rescheduling of the JEE Main exam date 2026 in case of any clash with other exams. The following decision has been made clear in the recently published JEE Main FAQs at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
This update comes after several students raised concerns about potential exam date conflicts. The agency states that if such a clash occurs, then NTA will not change the allotted date or shift of the examination for the candidates. This means that students need to plan carefully if they are simultaneously registering for other exams and ensure there are no exam clashes.
Candidates must note that there is no slot booking for JEE Mains 2026. The JEE Main exam date and slot will be randomly assigned. Candidates cannot ask for a change of date or shift for the JEE Mains 2026 exam once the allotment is done. The authority will release the JEE Main city intimation slip in the first week of January 2026. The JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip will include the exam date and exam city. However, the allotted shift timings will be given on the admit card only.
The JEE Main 2026 exam date for session 1 is January 21 to 30, and for session 2 is April 2 to 9, 2026. Engineering aspirants who are applying for multiple exams should now double-check the exam date to avoid a date clash and be able to appear for both exams.
