The applicants’ Aadhaar address is essentially their permanent address. NTA further clarifies that it will make every effort to allot a centre from the options selected. This new guideline aims to ensure that students are allotted centres closer to their location for convenience.
As per the JEE Main 2026 information brochure, candidates can choose up to four cities as their preferred exam centres. However, these choices must fall within the state of their present or permanent address.
What does it mean for Students?
- There is no need to panic. Your updated Aadhar address should be either your current or permanent address.
- During registration, carefully fill in your address, both current and permanent. When selecting the exam centres, choose the closest option for convenience.
