Around 2.36 lakh students, including candidates eligible for the 7.5% reservation for government school students, were allowed to participate in the counselling process.
The first round of general counselling was conducted from July 20 to 30, while the second round was held from August 3 to 13. The third round commenced on August 17.
In the TNEA counselling third round, seats were allotted to 56,294 students. The final allotment orders for students who confirmed their choices will be issued on August 31.
TNEA 2026 Supplementary Counselling
The upcoming TNEA 2026 supplementary counselling will provide another opportunity to students who did not apply for engineering admission after their Class 12 board examinations. Students who have cleared supplementary examinations will also be eligible to participate.
Applications for the supplementary counselling opened on August 17 through the official TNEA website. Eligible candidates can submit their applications until August 31.
As of August 24, around 10,021 students have registered for the supplementary counselling. The TNEA supplementary counselling choice filling and allotment is likely to begin in the first week of September. It will give eligible students another opportunity to secure admission to engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu against the remaining vacant seats.
