West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has announced the WBJEE 2024 counselling date for the Defence Quota seats. Eligible candidates will be able to participate in the WBJEE counselling 2024 for the Defence Quota seats on August 29, 2024, at 12:30 PM in the office of the WBJEE Board at Rupanna DB-118, Sector-I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata – 700064. Under the Defence Quota of WBJEE 2024 counselling, a total of 13 seats are available - 11 seats reserved in different branches in Govt. Engineering & Technology colleges of the state and 2 seats reserved in Jadavpur University.
Out of the 116 candidates sent by the Rajya Sainik Board, Home Department, Govt. of West Bengal, 50 candidates have been selected and called for the first round of Defence Quota WBJEE 2024 counselling. The list of the selected candidates has been released online at wbjeeb.nic.in. It is to be noted that Domicile criteria are now mandatory for availing the benefits of reservation of Defence quota seats in the Govt. Engineering & Technology colleges and Jadavpur University.
All candidates are required to be present physically on the day of the counselling with the required documents for the WBJEE 2024 seat allotment. Candidates will be called in for counselling in the order of their GMRs. The list of documents required are:
- WBJEE 2024 rank card and its photocopy
- Original proof of date of birth and its photocopy
- Original 12th standard exam mark sheet and its photocopy
- One passport size recent coloured photo
- WBJEE 2024 seat allotment letter (if any)
In case seats remain vacant after the first round of WBJEE 2024 counselling for the Defence Quota seats, the candidates who appeared for the first round but were not allotted will get the chance to participate in the next round.

WBJEE counselling mop-up round is an additional round to fill out the vacant seats. All registered and unregistered students can register for the mop-up round. Students who have participated in the first two rounds of counselling have to pay an additional fee of INR 200, while new students have to pay INR 1000.
The authorities of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will be responsible for the WBJEE counselling process. The details regarding how the WBJEE counselling will be held will be announced by the authorites on the official website. WBJEE counselling will be held online for all qualified candidates. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's obtained WBJEE rank, preferences and seat availability. JEE Main scores will also be taken into consideration for seat allotment.

WBJEEB has commenced the WBJEE 2025 counselling process. Candidates are advised to check the official schedule of WBJEE counselling 2025 so that they do not miss out on any important event. All qualified candidates had to complete the WBJEE 2025 counselling registration process before the final date, i.e., September 1, 2025. After the final date, the authorities do not accept any requests from the candidates.
