WBJEE 2026 Counselling: Registration, Choice Filling, Fee Payment, Seat Allotment

WBJEE 2026 counselling dates have not been announced yet. The qualified candidates will have to participate in the two rounds of counselling to be eligible for admissions. The students should also have minimum 60% in Mathematics and a pass mark in English.

Yes, there a self-financing institutes included in the WBJEE counselling process. In the self-financing institutes, the 10% approved seats will be open for JEE Main qualified candidates. These students do not require WBJEE scores for admission.

There are many private colleges that participate in counselling process. Some of the popular private colleges that will accept students based on their WBJEE scores are Heritage Institute of Technology, Techno India University, Haldi Insitute of Technology, etc. The list of colleges will be available soon so that the students can select their choice for the counselling and admission process.

Yes. Students with valid JEE Main scores can apply for admissions through the WBJEE counselling. However, these students will be eligible for allotment only in the 10% approved seats offered by the self-financing colleges and institutes participating in the state-level counselling.

If the students have not been allotted their higher preference in the second round of WBJEE counselling, then they can go back to their previously allotted seat. However, if they have been given their higher preference, then their previous seat will be automatically cancelled.

After the seats are allotted, the students will have to pay the seat acceptance fee of INR 5000 online to download their allotment letter. Next, they will have to report to their respective college to for document verification and tuition fee payment.

WBJEE cutoff is prepared after checking various exam and admission related factors. Some of the important factors that are considered to determine the cutoff are the entrance exam difficulty level, previous years' cutoff trends, number of seats for admission, total number of applicants, etc.

Students have to check the official WBJEE eligibility criteria to know if they eligible or not for the admission process. All students have to be of Indian nationality and should atleast 17 years old in the admission year. In the 12^th standard qualifying exam, the students should have scored minimum 45% (40% for reserved category) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. They should have also individually passed in these subjects. At least 30 marks should have been scored in English.

Students who want to withdraw their admission through WBJEE counselling will have to complete the process within the allotted timeline. If the withdrawal is not done on time, then they will not be able to get refund of the seat acceptance fee.
