WBJEE 2024 counselling dates will be announced soon at wbjeeb.nic.in. Qualified candidates with a valid rank in the entrance exam will be able to participate in the WBJEE counselling 2024 process for admission into the BTech courses offered by the participating institutes of the state. During the WBJEE 2024 counselling, the candidates will have to register and select their courses and colleges in the order of preference. The authorities will first announce the mock allotment of WBJEE 2024 so that the candidates can check their probable allotment and accordingly make changes in their order of preferences. It is to be noted that the WBJEE 2024 seat allotment results will be announced online separately for each round. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability. The authorities are expected to conduct two rounds of WBJEE counselling 2024, with a mop-up round. Common WBJEE counselling will be held for JEE Main qualified candidates. Allotted candidates will have to confirm their admission before the final date. Q:   When will WBJEE 2024 counselling be held?

A:

WBJEEB has not yet announced the WBJEE 2024 counselling dates. The authorities are expected to announce the WBJEE counselling dates after the official results is available. Candidates are advised to check the official schedule of WBJEE counselling 2024 so that they do not miss out on any important event. All qualified candidates will have to complete the WBJEE 2024 counselling registration process before the final date. After the final date, the authorities will not accept any requests from the candidates.

 

Q:   Who will conduct WBJEE counselling?

A:

The authorities of the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will be responsible for the WBJEE counselling process. The details regarding how the WBJEE counselling will be held will be announced by the authorites on the official website. WBJEE counselling will be held online for all qualified candidates. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's obtained WBJEE rank, preferences and seat availability. JEE Main scores will also be taken into consideration for seat allotment.

 

Q:   Can I change the date and time of WBJEE counselling?

A:

No. The candidates will not be allowed to change the date and time of WBJEE counselling. Since the counselling dates will be pre-determined by the authorities, they will not accept any requests to change the WBJEE counselling dates and slots. WBJEE counselling will be held online for all eligible candidates. The authorities will also announce the WBJEE seat allotment online. However, the candidates will have to confirm their admissions physically at the allotted institutes. 

 

WBJEE 2024 Counselling Process

WBJEE 2024 counselling will be held as an online process. To participate in the WBJEE counselling 2024 process, the candidates will have to follow the given steps. 

Step 1: WBJEE 2024 Counselling Registration

First, the candidates will have to visit wbjeeb.nic.in and click on the counselling link. To log in, the candidates will have to provide their roll number and password. All of the required details have to be checked and provided in the WBJEE counselling form. 

Step 2: Choice Filling and Locking 

Next, the registered candidates will have to fill in their choices for their preferred colleges and BTech courses. It is to be noted that the choice filling has to be done in the order of preference since it will be considered for allotment. After the option entry process concludes, the candidates will have to lock their choices for the final WBJEE seat allotment. Candidates who fail to lock choices will be allocated seats based on their last saved choices. 

Step 3: Payment of Fee

Next, the candidates will have to pay the counselling registration fee of INR 500. The fee is non-refundable and has to be paid online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card.  No other mode of payment will be accepted.

Step 3: WBJEE 2024 seat allotment result

Candidates will be allotted seats during the WBJEE counselling based on their rank, preference list and seat availability. WBJEE 2024 seat allotment result will be declared online and the process will be spread across three rounds. Candidates who are allocated seats in the seat allotment process will have to report at the reporting centres. Verified candidates will have to pay the provisional admission fee (mentioned below) at the reporting centre.

Step 6: Report at the Allotted Institutes

Candidates who are allotted seats will have to get their documents verified at their respective institutes. At this stage, candidates who are allotted seats in the first round can either pay the acceptance fee or opt for up-gradation. A provisional WBJEE 2024 seat allotment letter containing allotment details, fee details, and willingness for up-gradation will be issued to candidates at the reporting centres.

Candidates will have to verify the following documents at their allotted institutes.

  • All rank holders – 10th admit card/birth certificate for verification of date of birth
  • All rank holders – 10th Marksheet
  • All rank holders –12th Marksheet
  • WB domiciled candidates - Domicile
  • SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B rank holders – Respective category certificate.
  • PwD rank holders – PwD certificate
  • TFW rank holders – Income certificate

Q:   Should I attend the WBJEE counselling?

A:
Yes. Candidates with pending documents can apply for WBJEE counselling process. However, they will have to present and submit all of the required original documents before the final date if they are allotted. If the candidates fail to submit the documents before the final date, then they will be disqualified. Therefore, the candidates are advised to be sure that they will have all of the documents prepared before the final date. Candidates can also contact the authorities to resolve any of their queries regarding the counselling process.
 

Q:   Which rank will be considered for WBJEE counselling? General rank or obc rank?

A:
During the WBJEE counselling process, admissions will be done based on the candidate's rank obtained in the General Merit List. While the general rank will be considered for admissions, the cutoff will also be one of the deciding factors for the allotment of seats. WBJEE admission cutoff will be different for every category, college and course. Therefore, the candidates are advised to check the previous years' cutoffs to know the trends. The opening rank and closing rank for admissions is released through the WBJEE cutoff.
 

Q:   What if I cannot download the WBJEE counselling letter?

A:

To download the WBJEE counselling letter, the candidates will have to log in using the required credentials. In case, the candidates have trouble accessing and downloading the counselling letter, then they can try to log out and then log in again. If the problem still persists, the candidates are advised to check their internet connection for any issues. If there is no internet connectivity issues, then the candidates are advised to immediately contact the authorities to fix the problem.

 

Q:   Will I be considered for WBJEE counselling as I forgot to fill the choice of colleges?

A:
No. All candidates are required to fill out their choice of colleges and courses during the WBJEE counselling. Candidates will not be allowed to advance into the WBJEE seat allotment process if they have not selected their colleges and courses in the order of preference. All of the selection has to be done and submitted before the final date. Since WBJEE seat allotment will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability, the candidates will have to carefully select their choices during the counselling process.

WBJEE 2024 Counselling - Round 2

For the second round of WBJEE 2024 seat allotment, those candidates who chose up-gradation in the first round will be considered. However, the candidates who are allotted their first choice during the WBJEE 2024 counselling Round 1 will not be considered eligible for upgradation. Candidates who opt for up-gradation and are willing to take admission as per the allotment will have to report at the RC during the second round. They will be allowed to change their up-gradation status from "Yes" to "No" during the second round of WBJEE seat allotment 2024 but not from "No" to "Yes". 

Q:   Which candidates are not eligible for the second round of WBJEE counselling?

A:

There are certain candidates who will not be eligible to participate in the second round of WBJEE counselling. Firstly, those candidates who have been allotted their first preference in Round 1 of WBJEE counselling will not be allowed to participate in the next rounds. Candidates who have not registered for the counselling process in the first round will also not be eligible for the second round. However, unregistered candidates will be able to register and fill out their choices for the mop-up round of WBJEE counselling.

 

Q:   Is it possible that I won't get the college of my choice in WBJEE counselling?

A:

During the counselling process, the WBJEE seat allotment will depend on various factors related to the entrance examination. The authorities will allot seats to the candidates according to their obtained WBJEE/JEE Main rank, preferences, category and seat availability. Since the order of preferences is an important factor in the seat allotment process, the candidates are advised to submit as many choices as possible during the WBJEE counselling registration process.

 

Q:   What should I do to become eligible for second counselling? No seat was allocated to me in WBJEE in first counselling.

A:

Candidates who are not allotted any seats during the first round of WBJEE counselling will automatically be eligible to participate in the second round. No separate registration process has to be done to participate in the second round of WBJEE counselling. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's rank, submitted preferences, category and seat availability. These candidates will also be eligible to participate in the mop-up round, where they can edit their choices for allotment.

 

WBJEE 2024 Counselling - Mop-Up Round

For the WBJEE 2024 mop-up counselling round, the registered candidates will have to pay an additional fee of INR 200. However, the candidates who have previously not participated in the counselling process will be required to pay INR 1,000 as the fee. This round is optional for all registered candidates. Candidates will be allowed to modify their already-filled choices during the mop-up round WBJEE 2024 seat allotment result for the mop-up round will be announced online. The following groups of candidates will be eligible for the WBJEE 2024 mop-up round:

  • All candidates allotted seats, paid seat acceptance fees either in Round 1 or 2, but not taken admission.
  • Not allotted in Round 1 or Round 2.
  • Candidates not registered previously (Fresh Registrations)
  • All registered candidates except those who have EXIT/Withdrawn from the e-counselling system due to various reasons during the previous rounds.

Q:   What is mop up rounds of counselling in WBJEE? How can I take part in it?

A:

WBJEE counselling mop-up round is an additional round of counselling that is held to fill out the vacant seats. All registered and unregistered candidates who have qualified WBJEE will be eligible for the mop-up counselling. To participate in the mop-up round, the candidates will have to register and fill out their choices. For fresh registrations, a fee of INR 1000 has to be paid online. Candidates who have participated in the previous rounds have to be pay an additional fee of INR 200. The registration process also has to be completed before the final date.

 

Q:   Is fresh registration allowed in the WBJEE counselling mop-up round?

A:

Yes. Candidates will be allowed to freshly register for the mop-up round of WBJEE counselling. After the completion of the first two WBJEE counselling rounds, the candidates will be able to register for the mop-up round online. For fresh registrations, INR 1000 has to be paid. Other candidates will have to pay a fee of INR 200 online to be registered for the mop-up round. Already registered candidates will also be able to edit/modify their previously filled choices. The process has to be completed before the final date, that will be announced online by the authorities.

Q:   Which are the top 10 colleges of WBJEE?

A:

Various universities, government colleges and self-financing engineering and technical institutions of the state participate in the WBJEE counselling process. While there are many colleges that offer the best education to the students, some of the top colleges through WBJEE as per the Shiksha ratings are - Jadavpur University Heritage Institute of Technology, Institute of Engineering and Management, Brainware University, Adamas University, Narula Institute of Technology, GNIT, etc.

 

Q:   What is WBJEE General Merit Rank?

A:

WBJEE GMR is the General Merit List released by WBJEEB for admission to all the courses available in all enlisted Engineering and Technology Colleges and Universities within the state of West Bengal. The list will be prepared based on the candidate scores obtained in all the subjects (i.e. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) in WBJEE 2024. Ranking in the GMR WBJEE merit list will be prepared in descending order of total marks scored in all the subjects as stated above. However, there may also be ties and in such cases, the tie breaking rule shall be applicable for determining the merit rank.

 

Q:   Will I get colleges in my city during WBJEE counselling?

A:

Along with the ranks, the allotment of colleges also depends on the availability of seats in the colleges that the candidates have opted for during the WBJEE counselling process. Once the ranks are announced, the candidates can check the previous years' admission cutoff details of their preferred institutes. The cutoff trends can help the candidate's make their decision regarding the order of preference for colleges and courses during the WBJEE counselling process. 

 

Q:   Is it necessary to have a provisional 12th standard certificate during the WBJEE counselling?

A:

During the WBJEE counselling, the provisional 12th standard certificate is not essential. However, the candidates will be required to submit the 12th standard qualifying certificate when they are reporting at their allotted institute. If the candidates are unable to submit the document within the time allotted by the authorities, then their admission might get cancelled. Candidates are advised to check the list of documents to know what has to be presented during their admission confirmation process.

 

Q:   How many seats are reserved for WBJEE TFW category?

A:

Tution Fee Waiver (TFW) category seats are reserved for those candidates for economically backward students who have a good academic record. 5% TFW seats, which are supernumerary in nature will be available for admissions into the WBJEE 2024 participating institutes. The TFW rank in various institutes will be considered for admissions. WBJEEB will announce the details regarding the TFW category reservations, once the application and admission process commences.
