Delhi University to reopen in phased manner from September 15, guidelines released
The practical and other activities will be conducted only will 50 per cent of the total strength, the notification added. The theory classes will be continued to be conducted in online mode until further notice.
The Delhi University has announced that it will reopen the University of Delhi, affiliated colleges, departments and centres in a phased manner. The University of Delhi in its official notification announced that the practical classes and other activities for the final year Under Graduate or Post Graduate students will be allowed in offline mode from September 15. The practical and other activities will be conducted only will 50 per cent of the total strength, the notification added.
The theory classes will be continued to be conducted in online mode until further notice. The decision has been taken by the DU administration following guidelines issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).
The Delhi University has also released a set of guidelines to be followed to avoid the further spread of COVID-19. Some of the important guidelines and and instructions are:
- The teaching and non-teaching staff should be fully vaccinated against the COVID- 19 virus.
- All the students entering into the college/department/ University should have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. However, for hostel residents, both doses of COVID-19 vaccines are essential but ensure that the residents have at least one dose of vaccine.
- Theory classes for both Undergraduate(UG) and Postgraduate(PG) courses will still be conducted online
- To attend the offline classes is voluntary, therefore, no attendance compulsion will be there.
- Final year students may also be allowed to join for academic consultation and placement purposes, as per the decision of the head of the institutions. However, it should be ensured that students not more than 50 per cent of sitting capacity, should be present at any point in time.
