DU MTech Admissions 2026 to Be Based on GATE Scores for First Time

DU MTech Admissions 2026: University of Delhi will now consider GATE scores for admission to its MTech programme in Microwave and Communication Engineering. This is the first time Delhi university will use GATE scores for admission to any postgraduate programme. The decision was taken after course received approval from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Separate Admission Portal for DU MTech Course
Delhi University has informed that admissions for MTech programme will be conducted through a separate portal. Candidates will not be able to apply through Common Seat Allocation System for PG admissions (CSAS PG).
Eligibility Criteria for MTech Admission
As per notification, candidates must have BTech, BE, BSc Engineering, MSc or an equivalent degree in relevant discipline from recognised university or institution. Students from these branches are eligible to apply

DU said applicants must meet programme-specific eligibility conditions mentioned in admission guidelines.

Delhi University MTech programme has a total of 30 seats. Category-wise seat distribution is as follows

Preference to GATE Qualified Candidates
DU has also clarified that candidates who have qualified CUET-PG can apply for programme. It must be noted that preference during admissions will be given to students who hold valid GATE score. Haneet Gandhi, Dean of Admissions at DU explained that course already existed earlier, but GATE scores are being accepted only from this year after AICTE approval.
