If entrance is delayed due to Covid and if admission happens at later date, we'll surely adjust our academic calendar to take care of lost time without compromising academic rigor, the VC said.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar has said that the varsity will hold the JNU Entrance Exam 2021 whenever it is safe for students to write. If entrance is delayed due to Covid and if admission happens at later date, we'll surely adjust our academic calendar to take care of lost time without compromising academic rigor, Mr Jagadesh said.

It must be noted that the Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam, or JNUEE, is held for students seeking admission to postgraduate and MPhil programmes offered at JNU. Generally held during May and June, the entrance exams have been delayed this year due to the ongoing Covid pandemic.

Earlier, JNU had also put on hold the registration process for admission to the Winter semesters. The registration for the Winter Semester 2021 that was scheduled to begin from May 8, has been postponed and put on hold owing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the situation arising due to it.

National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the JNUEE 2021 application form in online mode. The JNUEE application form 2021 date is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, JNU has announced that the Dr BR Ambedkar Central Library will remain closed strictly till 9 am on June 7. The varsity will continue to keep its campus closed until June 7 owing to the lockdown imposed in the national capital.

The varsity said that it has informed the security branch to put pickets at several locations inside the campus to "ensure effective checking of movement of persons and vehicles" and to prevent "unnecessary movement of people on roads during curfew".
