IGNOU has clarified that it has not authorized any person to collect money through unofficial means.
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has issued a public notice advising students against fraud people posing as university officials and collecting money from them.
As per a notice by the varsity, some imposters have been contacting students via personal emails, phone calls, and other channels, demanding payments for various services including examination fees, issuance of duplicate grade cards and degrees, transcripts, verification of certificates, project and practical fees, revaluation, and photocopies of answer sheets.
It has also clarified that it has not authorized any person to collect money through unofficial means. All payments related to examination fees, certificates, or revaluation have to be made exclusively through IGNOU’s official website (http://ignou.ac.in).
IGNOU has advised learners to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to such scams.
