Jamia Professor, Two others arrested in bribe case
CBI has recovered around Rs 30 lakh in cash and bank deposits worth Rs 1.19 Crore during searches
The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a professor of civil engineering of Jamia Milia Islamia University and two others in a bribe case of Rs one lakh. Md. Khalid Moin, is a professor in the department of civil engineering, while Abid Khan and Prakhar Pawar, were arrested from a private company based at Okhla, New Delhi.
As per reports, CBI has recovered around Rs 30 lakh in cash and bank deposits worth Rs 1.19 Crore during searches at the premises of Jamia Millia Islamia professor, Khalid Moin.
The Structural Stability certificate of the building (Chintels Paradiso High Rise Society) that collapsed recently in Haryana's Gurugram killing two women, was also passed by the accused professor.
However, Moinβs arrest was not connected to the building collapse.
An FIR was registered against the accused over allegations that the JMI professor in conspiracy with the representatives of different private builders, architects, middlemen etc. was indulging in different activities for issuing structural stability certificates for the projects after taking bribe.
Following this, CBI laid a trap and caught the Professor and two others while accepting and giving the bribe of Rs. one lakh.
