Candidates interested in JNU Admissions 2021 must note that the last date to apply for PhD programme under the JRF category is August 28, 2021. Candidates can apply for the course on the official website of the University, i.e. jnuee.jnu.ac.in.
JNU Admissions 2021: Jawaharlal Nehru University has commenced the admission application process for Doctor of Philosophy, the PhD programme under Junior Research Fellow, JRF category. Candidates interested in JNU Admissions 2021 must note that the last date to apply for PhD programme under the JRF category is August 28, 2021. Candidates can apply for the course on the official website of the University, i.e. jnuee.jnu.ac.in. Candidates admitted for PhD have to go through one year of mandatory course work in their respective field for the academic year 2021-22.
JNU PhD programme through the JRF category is being offered in its seven centres— Centre for International Trade and Development, Centre for Indian Language, Centre for English Studies, PhD in Human Right Studies, Centre for Woman Right Studies., Centre for Law and Governance, and others.
JNU Admission 2021 Dates
- Last date of application for PhD under JRF category- August 28, 2021
- Last Date of Fees Payment for PhD under JRF category- August 29, 2021
- Correction of the window for the application form- September 1, 2021
- Declaration of PhD result for viva voice- October 18, 2021(Tentative)
Junior Research Fellow candidates, will not have to appear for the JNU entrance examination test (JNUEE 2021). These candidates will be directly called for an interview or viva voice. JNU is expected to conduct a viva voice examination from October 26, 2021, to November 3, 2021. However, the dates are tentative and subject to changes by the institute. Meanwhile, the final merit list will be published tentatively by November 9, 2021.
Recently, while replying to a plea filed by the Students Federation of India, JNU told the Delhi Court that its decision to allow all the PhD seats to JRF candidates is a well-considered policy. The university said that the decision has been taken after thorough consideration by the University Academic Council by complying with UGC regulation 2016. The university gave the reply in response to a plea filed by the Students Federation of India. JNU also mentioned that candidates under JRF category, have to qualify for intense academic examinations before being selected. UGC conducts the said examination.
