CLAT 2026 Merit List row: The division bench of Allahabad High Court today has stayed the February 3 order of the single judge directing CNLUs to revise the entire CLAT 2026 merit list for CLAT 2026 for future counselling rounds. The bench comprising Justice Saumitra Dayal Singh and Justice Indrajeet Shukla passed the order regarding revision of CLAT merit list 2026.
CLAT 2026 Merit List Row: A Division Bench of the Allahabad High Court has stayed a previous single-judge order, dated February 3, regarding CLAT counselling 2026. The order, mandating a complete revision of CLAT-UG 2026 merit list, was passed following the PIL by a student, Avneesh Gupta, who claimed that his objections in CLAT final answer key 2026 were not considered. He argued that this mistake has disrupted the admission cycle, and he missed the opportunity to get admission in his desired college.
Revised CLAT 2026 Merit List Update: What's the Case?
A student named Avneesh Gupta took the CLAT 2026 exam and noticed mistakes in the answer key. During the "objection window," he submitted three complaints. However, the Consortium of NLUs released the CLAT 2026 final merit list without addressing or fixing those issues. Avneesh took the matter to the Allahabad High Court. A single judge (Justice Vivek Saran) agreed with objection and directed the consortium to:
- Correct the errors in the answer key.
- Re-calculate the ranks for all candidates.
- Revise CLAT 2026 merit list for all future rounds.
