Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur has set up a Case Research Centre (CRC) to strengthen case-based teaching and creating India-focused management studies. Centre has been launched in partnership with Ivey Publishing.
According to the institute, new centre will develop cases based on Indian companies, startups, government initiatives and social sector organisations. The objective is to produce high-quality, contextual material for classroom teaching and academic research. Nine business schools have joined as member institutions and will receive support for case-writing, training programmes and workshops through the CRC.
Ivey Publishing officials have highlighted that high-quality case writing continues to rely on rigorous fieldwork and human insight. They noted that while AI tools may assist with initial drafts or editing, the core research, interviews and narrative development require human expertise.
IIM Nagpur said that centre will serve as a platform to document business practices and decision-making scenarios from across the country, making management education more relevant to the Indian context. The institute added that plans are underway to expand collaborations and organise dedicated conferences on case writing and research in the coming year.
