MICA Releases MICAT 2025 Details at mica.ac.in; Reduces Weightage for GE and PI
Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, has released MICAT exam details, including the dates, application form, and selection criteria for incoming batch 2025-27. The weightage for GE and PI has been reduced.
MICAT Exam Details 2025 Released at mica.ac.in
MICAT exam details 2025 are out on the official website, mica.ac.in. MICAT (I) registration has been started today, September 30. Candidates will be able to apply for the MICAT exam 2025 until 11:50 PM on November 22. All candidates applying before November 22 will be issued the MICAT admit cards on December 4. The first phase of the MICAT 2025 exam will be conducted on December 7.
Soon after the registration window for the first phase is closed, aspirants will be able to apply for the MICAT (II) exam from November 25. The last date to apply for MICAT II is January 11. MICAT II exam will be held on January 25, 2025.

MICAT Selection Criteria 2025
With the release of MICAT exam details, the institute has notified a change in the selection criteria. The weightage for different selection parameters have been revised. A reduction has been seen in the selection weightage for GE and PI. While the weightage for exam scores have been increased.
The selection criteria for MICA PGDM admissions 2025 are as follows:
- CAT/XAT/GMAT: 35%
- MICAT: 25%
- GE: 10%
- PI: 20%
- Academic performance (10th,12th, Graduation): 5%
- 10th-1.75%
- 12th-1.75%
- Graduation-1.5%
- Extra-Curricular, sports, academic diversity, gender diversity, etc.: 5%

MICA admissions are through a layered filtering process comprising of CAT/ XAT /GMAT performance followed by the performance in MICAT written exam and finally the GE and PI performance. The step 1 of MICA admissions is Psychometric test. This section is a qualifier. followed by the Step 2, which is for the candidates who qualify through Psychometric test, their relative performance on CAT /XAT/ GMAT is considered.
A minimum cutoff of the best of the three scores is considered of CAT /XAT total percentile or GMAT score. The next step is the MICAT exam followed by the GE and PI. However, CAT/ XAT/ GMAT percentile/ scores make up only the 20 per cent of the total weightage of the final composite score.
Yes, candidates seeking admission to PGP (PGDM/ PGDM-C) course at MICA must qualify for MICAT. Based on the MICAT scores along with the scores obtained in national-level entrance exams such as CAT, XAT and GMAT, the institute shortlists candidates for the next round. MICAT is conducted mainly to choose the right candidate for the course. It’s a complete Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted twice a year in two phases. MICAT registration for the academic year 2024-24 has started. Candidates can apply online on the official website.
Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad, conducts the MICAT exam in two phases. Typically, the examination under first phase is conducted in the first week of December.
