DAVV CET 2020

The National Testing Agency may conduct the DAVV CET 2020 on behalf of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore for academic year 2020-21.The agency is scheduled to meet the varsity officials in Delhi on March 04 to discuss the plan and pattern of the DAVV CET 2020.

The varsity officials have expressed confidence that the agency has got a go-ahead from the MHRD and they are planning to conduct the test latest by second week of June.

"We are 99% certain that the agency has got the permission from the ministry as they have fixed the meeting to discuss about the entrance test which is expected to be conducted latest by second week of June," DAVV spokesperson Dr Chandan Gupta was quoted as saying by TOI.

In the scheduled meeting, varsity officials are likely to discuss, the total number candidates appearing for DAVV CET, exam dates and the question paper pattern. The agency has also prepared a rough draft as per the initial discussions with the heads of various departments at  the varsity.

The varsity decided to handover the reigns to the National Testing Agency in light of several controversies it faced in hosting the exam over the last few years. In 2019, over 1300 candidates could not take DAVV CET due to technical glitches at the examination centre. Consequently, the agitated students and their parents protested against the authorities for their failure to conduct the exam. DAVV CET for undergraduate programmes was delayed by more than 90 minutes whereas the examination for postgraduate programmes was cancelled on June 24, 2019.  In 2017, DAVV CET was also in the eye of storm after students alleged tampering with their scores.

Every year, around 17000-18000 students appear for DAVV CET for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the varsity and its affiliated colleges. Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya is expecting a spike in the total number of applications this year as it has become the first university of Madhya Pradesh to get an A+ grade in National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
