Commonly asked questions
Q:   What is TSICET qualifying cutoff?
A:

Every year, with the release of TG ICET notification, TGCHE notifies the qualifying cutoff, also known as qualifying score. Candidates appearing for the TG ICET exam must meet the qualifying cutoff to participate in the counselling process. The qualifying cutoff has not changed from the previous session. Candidates have to score a minimum of 25 per cent marks if they belong to unreserved categories. Those who belong to reserved categories are eligible for the counselling, irrespective of their scores. Out of 200 marks, your category candidates have to secure 50 marks to be eligible to participate in the counselling process.

Q:   What is the TSICET cutoff for Vaagdevi Degree and PG College?
A:

TSICET ranks are required for admission to MBA and MCA courses at the Vaagdevi Degree and PG College. The rank required for admission in 2025 was 9727 and 1161 for MBA and MCA, respectively, for the students belonging to the general category. Please note that the cutoff varies for students belonging to other categories.

Q:   Why is TSICET score normalisation process required?
A:
The primary aim of the normalisation of marks in the TSICET examination process is to ensure that all students are evaluated on a similar scale. TSICET score normalisation guarantees that no test taker gets an advantage or a disadvantage due to multiple exam shifts. TSICET normalisation process brings all the test takers, across shifts, on a comparative scale. Since there are different Sets of questions in each shift, test takers who appeared in a shift with an easy set of questions may get their scores reduced after normalisation. Similarly, test takers who appeared in a difficult exam shift of TSICET may get their score improved from the raw score after normalisation. The difficulty standards of each session are evaluated based on the average performance of the test takers in a particular exam shift.

Conversely, candidates belonging to Reserved Categories are eligible for a rank without the requirement of a minimum qualifying mark. Students are advised to monitor the official website regularly for updates regarding the subsequent centralised admission process and counselling schedule.
