BDS Admission 2026 Update

The National Dental Commission (NDC) has released an important update regarding the admission process for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses across the country. NDC has sent an official notification to all state counselling authorities regarding the update in BDS admission 2026 criteria. According to the council, just qualifying the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) will not guarantee a seat in any dental college. Candidates must also fulfil the academic criteria in their senior secondary school board exams.Β

The official notification highlights that there have been updates in BDS admission 2026 criteria. As per the revised update, general category students have to get atleast 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology combined. Candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backwards Classes (OBC) require a minimum aggregate score of 40 per cent in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology instead of the 50 per cent rule.
