FORDA tries to unite medical community to tackle 10 point docket

FORDA has held a press conference at RML Hospital to join forces of the medical community to tackle a 10-point docket they have released through a press release.
The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has prepared a 10-point docket which they have already submitted to the Honourable Union Health Minister and DGHS India.
They have invited IMA, IMA-JDN, DMA, NMO, AIIMS RDA, FAIMA, AIMSA, UDFA and many others to stand together for these points through their official release.
"We understand that addressing these issues will require a united effort and we are inviting all medical organizations to come forward and join us in pushing through these points," reads FORDA's statement.
Details of the docket points
Following are the 10 points:
- Formation of Indian Medical Services cadre for the bureaucratic and administrative decisions and redressal of complaints.
- Bond free medical education
- Healthcare worker protection act (Central Protection act) for incidents of violence against doctors on duty.
- Risk Hazard allowance for resident doctors
- Elimination/decreasing the number of contractual posts for doctors in hospitals and promoting regular posts for the same on yearly basis.
- Increasing tenure of existing ad-hoc posts for a minimum of 6 months.
- Some amendments in the Residency Scheme of 1992
- Salaries for resident doctors should be at par with the minimum amount as per the state guidelines in which they are working.
- Streamlining of NEET PG entrance exam
- An apex body controlling every aspect of medical education, such that there are no discrepancies in decision-making between NMC, NBE, and MCC has been the root cause of many procedural delays, stated FORDA's statement.
