Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2025

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has announced an important update regarding Karnataka NEET UG counselling 2025. As per the recent notification, the Karnataka NEET UG round 3 result 2025 has been revoked as per the High Court direction. After 41 days of confusion regarding the remaining 900 available seats in medical and dental undergraduate courses for the 2025-26 year, the Karnataka High Court has directed KEA to conduct the Karnataka NEET UG 2025 round 3 counselling process afresh.

A special panel of three judges set aside the seat allotment list of students who had been selected in the third round of admissions, which was originally published on October 24. This means the new Karnataka NEET UG 2025 round 3 counselling dates for filling those 900 seats will be announced shortly.

Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2025: What's The Case?

The Karnataka High Court has ordered the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) to completely conduct its "third round" process for MBBS and BDS admissions. Three judges gave a decision that requires the KEA to follow its usual method but add a necessary update. This decision was necessary because two other judges had previously disagreed on the correct approach for the conduct of the counselling process.

The court found a mistake in how KEA assigned seats in the third round. The court observed that the KEA's process meant people with lower scores were getting better seats than those with higher scores. The issue was that the KEA only considered new applicants when filling seats that became empty after the first stage of the third round. The KEA has now been ordered to correct this allocation process.
