MAMC to organise workshop for first-year PG students 2022

The Maulana Azad Medical College New Delhi is organising a Bio-statistics & Research Methods Workshop/PG orientation programme for first-year PG students (Degree/Diploma) 2022 batch on July 22 and July 23.

Attendance for the workshop is mandatory and the programme shall be a mandatory pre-requisite for pursuing the postgraduate course in this institution. 

The official notification reads, "It is made clear that if the course coordinator does not certify their attendance, the PGs would not be allowed to submit their protocols."

The medical college has said that all PG students attending the course should bring their laptops with them to work with EXCEL sheet and Literature search. 

India needs evidence-based guidelines for use of vitamins, says MAMC Pharmcologists

Last month the Pharmacologists of MAMC and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital said that the country needs evidence-based guidelines for using vitamins and minerals supplements. Dr Vandana Roy, head of pharmacology at MAMC said, "Vitamins must be prescribed for specific indications as per the scientific evidence and their indiscriminate use for health promotion or prevention of chronic diseases should be stopped," as reported by TOI.

A fraud duped MBBS aspirants for admission to MAMC

Recently, a kingpin of a gang was arrested by Delhi Police for duping MBBS aspirants on the pretext of providing admission to MBBS in MAMC. The accused made phone calls through MAMC and MCI's landline numbers and contacted the victims through official emails by hacking into the system.

“On the basis of technical surveillance and secret sources, police traced Paras’ hideout and apprehended him from the Sheikh Sarai area on June 21. Paras, who has done his PhD in Economics, started duping people on the pretext of admission to MBBS in 2019. He is a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur,” said Deputy commissioner of police (crime branch) Rajesh Deo, as reported by Hindustan Times.
