MHT CET CAP Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2026 LIVE

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell is set to announce the MHT CET CAP round 1 seat allotment result 2026 on August 2 for admission to BE and BTech programmes. Candidates who completed CAP registration, document verification and option form submission will be able to check their allotment status by logging into the official counselling portal using their application credentials.

The round 1 allotment will be prepared based on several factors, including the candidate’s final merit rank, category, reservation policy, preferences filled during option entry and seat availability across participating institutes. This year, engineering admissions are being conducted for 380 participating institutes, offering a significantly higher number of seats than last year, making the first round crucial for lakhs of aspirants.

How to Check MHT CET 2026 CAP Round 1 Allotment Result?

Once the result link is activated, candidates can:

  • Visit the official MHT CET CAP portal.
  • Log in using the Application ID and password.
  • Click on the CAP Round 1 Seat Allotment link.
  • Download the allotment letter and verify the allotted institute and branch.
  • Complete the online seat acceptance process within the prescribed deadline. 

What After MHT CET Seat Allotment?

Candidates who receive an allotment in CAP round 1 will have to choose the appropriate admission option and complete online seat acceptance. They must also report to the allotted institute with the required documents and admission fee within the notified schedule. Those who wish to participate in subsequent CAP rounds can do so as per the counselling rules after completing the necessary formalities.

    With 97.5 percentile in MHT-CET, you have a strong chance to get admission in reputed colleges like PICT Pune, VIT Pune, SPIT Mumbai, or Thakur College of Engineering for branches such as IT, ECE, or Electrical. COEP and VJTI may be difficult for CSE. Government colleges like WCE Sangli, SGGS Nanded, and GCOE Amravati are also good options. You can get preferred branches in private colleges and core branches in government ones.     Q:   Can I participate in MHT CET counselling if I did not appear in MHT CET exam?
    A: 

    Candidates who have not appeared in MHT CET exam can participate in the counselling based on their JEE Main score, if appeared. Candidates who did not appeared either in JEE Main or MHT CET can participate in the counselling based on their class 12 percentage.

    Admission in BTech courses in Maharashtra is given on the basis of three exams

    • MHT CET
    • JEE Main
    • Class 12 Marks

    A certain number of seats are reserved under Home-State quota and All India quota. All India quota seats are filled on the basis of JEE Main scores while Home-State quota seats are filled on through MHT CET scores. At the end of counselling/seat allotment on the basis of MHT CET and JEE Main, seats that remain vacant are filled on the basis of class 12 marks.

    At the time of registration for MHT CET counselling, candidates need to provide the detail of applying for admission on the basis of JEE Main/MHT CET or class 12.
