The National Board of Examinations will be conducting FMGE 2021 June session tomorrow, June 18, 2021 in online mode.  NBE has already issued FMGE 2021 admit card and covid-19 guidelines for the exam. In an official notification, NBE recently justified the decision of holding FMGE 2021 exam as per the schedule. As covid-19 cases declining across the country, NBE decided not to defer FMGE 2021 exam and the exam will be conducted with extra precautionary measures amid covid-19, the official notification said.

Social distancing, staggered entry and exit for candidates,  isolation labs, are among some of the measures undertaken to conduct the FMGE 2021 exam. Medical graduates have been opposing the NBE’s decision to conduct FMGE 2021 exam amid covid-19. They believed that cases have yet not declined in many parts of India and travelling will be a big issue for candidates.

Moreover when other PG exams like NEET PG 2021, INI CET 2021 were postponed, why not FMGE 2021, students questioned. Earlier, the Delhi High Court dismissed a plea, seeking postponement of the FMGE 2021 exam. The matter is in the Supreme Court which has posted FMGE 2021 postponement matter for June 18, the exam-day.

Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is an exam conducted to provide a license to practice in India. Those who graduated from medical institutes outside India will have to clear the FMGE 2021 exam to obtain a permanent or provisional registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC). NBE conducts the exam twice a year, one in December and other in June.

FMGE 2021 exam will be conducted in two shifts, one from 9 am to 11:30 am, and the other from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. Candidates must carry FMGE 2021 admit card and other necessary documents at the examination centre.  As per FMGE 2021 pattern, the test paper will comprise 300 multiple choice questions, divided into two sections. Candidates will get five hours, two and half hours for each section. Candidates will not be deducted any mark for the wrong response. NBE is expected to declare FMGE 2021 result by June 30, 2021
