The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) will not hold an entrance exam for the 2021-22 academic year. Students will be shortlisted based on their performance in the NEET-UG.

NEET 2021 scores will be used for JIPMER BSc Nursing admission

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry, will admit students to JIPMER BSc nursing and related health science courses for the academic year 2021-22 based on their NEET 2021 scores. The varsity stated the same in its official notification. “The counselling and admission processes for Bsc Nursing and Health science courses will be conducted by JIPMER, and admission in the above-mentioned courses for the academic session 2021-22 will be based on merit score of NEET UG conducted by National Testing Agency,” according to the statement. However, the varsity will handle the counselling and admissions for the aforementioned courses. JIPMER will not hold a separate entrance exam for this purpose.

According to the official notification, candidates seeking admission to JIPMER BSc Nursing must register separately at JIPMER's official website, jipmer.edu.in. The registration process, as well as other important details, will be announced in due course. Candidates are encouraged to keep checking the JIPMER official website for updates.

Previously, NEET scores were used to grant admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and Veterinary programmes. It will now be considered for admission to the BSC Nursing and BSc Life Sciences programmes.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the NEET-UG to provide admission to various medical courses at all participating institutes across the country under both all India and state quotas. NTA has already announced the date for NEET-UG 2021. On August 1, the medical entrance exam will be held.

The information bulletin will be made available on the website ntaneet.nic.in shortly, and will include detailed information about the Test, syllabus, eligibility criteria for age, reservation, seat categorisation, examination fee, cities of examination, State Code, and so on. According to the official announcement, NEET-UG 2021 will be administered in 11 languages, including Hindi and English, using a pen and paper format.
