Ukraine returned Indian medicos can complete education in Russia: Russian envoy
Oleg Avdeev, Consul General of Russia said that Ukraine returned Indian medical students can continue their education in Russia.
Once again, Russia extended support to Ukraine's returned Indian medical students by offering to accommodate them at Russian universities. Oleg Avdeev, Consul General of Russia said that Ukraine returned Indian students can continue their education in Russia.
“Indian students who left Ukraine can continue their education in Russia as the medical syllabus is almost the same (as Ukraine). They (Indian students) know the language of people, as in Ukraine, most of them spoke Russian. They're most welcome in Russia," said Avdeev, as reported by Business Today.
In July this year, Roman Babushkin, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Russian Embassy in New Delhi also made a similar announcement. Babushkin said that Indian students, who had to leave their studies midway, will be offered admission to Russian universities without them losing out on their previous academic years.
SC likely to hear pleas of Ukraine returned medicos today
The apex court is expected to hear the pleas today. Earlier it was scheduled for November 1 but Supreme Court postponed the case for November 11, 2022.
While the medicos have started returning to Ukraine amid the ongoing war, the case is still going on in the Supreme Court. The court has advised the Centre to come up with a portal to maintain transparency of information to Ukraine returned medical students.
Many states have requested the Centre to accommodate these students, but the Central government submitted in the Supreme Court that currently, National Medical Commission (NMC) has no policy to accommodate these students.
