MHRD's video conference with VCs of central universities POSTPONED

The Human Resource and Development Minister, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ Postponed the live session he was about to conduct at 4 pm today. In his latest tweet, the minister informed that the live session, for now, is cancelled due to urgent work commitments. New date for the live discussion will be communicated soon. In the tweet regarding the postponement of the live sessions, the minister wrote, "Due to urgent official commitment, the interaction with Vice-Chancellor's stands postponed. Inconvenience is deeply regretted. Next date of interaction will be announced soon."
The minister was all set to have a live discussion with the vice-chancellors of various Universities today at 4pm. As decided, the topic of the discussion was ‘Higher Education in post COVID19 era’
The earlier tweet posted by the minister reads, “I am looking forward to interacting with the vice-chancellors of Universities across India today to discuss Higher Education post #COVID19 era at 4.0 pm via my Facebook (cmnishank) and Twitter (@DrRPNishank) pages. The minister will talk about the various aspects that will be kept in mind will imparting education once normalcy is restored and academic institutions will re-open. The kind of precautions will be taken, the way the teaching-learning process will go on and will online education become a major part of the education process are some of the topics that the minister will cover in the session.
Earlier, Mr Pokhriyal conducted two webinars for parents and students on April 27 and May 5 respectively. During the live sessions, the HRD minister answered various questions related to the postponed board exams including CBSE, new academic sessions, alternative academic calendar, delayed entrance exams and more. In the webinar, The MHRD announced the JEE Main 2020 April Exam and NEET 2020 exam dates. JEE Main is scheduled to be held in multiple sessions from July 18 to July 23 while NEET will be conducted on July 26. JEE Advanced 2020 will be held on August 23. The minister also announced the pending exam dates for CBSE 10thand CBSE 12th students. According to the revised CBSE Class 10 Date Sheet 2020 and CBSE Class 12 Date Sheet 2020, the examinations will be conducted from July 1 to July 15. With this announcement, the CBSE 10th result and CBSE 12th result is expected to be announced in August.
The HRD Minister’s third webinar is scheduled for May 14, 2020. During this, he will be talking to the teachers regarding the challenges they are facing while imparting education amid the lockdown due to COVID-19 spread. He will also be seen answering their queries.
