CDS Exam Analysis 2020 & Review by Students; Check Section-Wise & Overall Difficulty

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has conducted CDS 1 2020 exam on February 2 across 41 cities in three shifts. The English paper was held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM while General Knowledge exam was conducted from 12:00 PM to 2 PM. The Mathematics paper was held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. According to the feedback provided by the candidates, English and General Knowledge papers were easy to moderate. Overall CDS Exam Analysis by Students

CDS is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. Candidates qualifying the written exam and SSB Interview are offered admission to Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) and Air Force Academy (AFA). CDS Exam Analysis 2020 by Students for English & General Knowledge

Shiksha visited one of the CDS exam centres in Pitampura, Delhi, where near about 600 students had appeared in the exam to gather their feedback regarding the difficulty level of English and General Knowledge sections. Check below the reviews shared by the students. 

Siddhanth said, "The English section was easy in terms of difficulty level. In the Comprehension section, questions were less, there were only 10 questions while last year there were 20 questions. The General Knowledge paper was lengthy."

Krishna Pal Singh, who had applied for OTA said, " The overall difficulty of English and General Knowledge were moderate. There were a few tough questions too in the General Knowledge section."

Jatin Shah who had appeared for the first time said, "Maximum questions in General knowledge were from Science. The overall paper was moderate."

Vishal said, "The English paper was easy in terms of difficulty level. However, the General Knowledge paper was tough."

Laxman Pujari said, "I appeared for the first time for the exam. The overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate. The questions in English were basic."

CDS Exam Analysis 2020 by Students for Elementary Mathematics

Shiksha visited one of the CDS exam centres in RK Puram, Delhi, where approximately 300 students had appeared in the exam, to gather their feedback regarding the difficulty level of Elementary section. Check below the reviews shared by the students. 

Bhanu Pathak, who has applied for OTA and INA  said, "The Mathematics section, was difficult. In Mensuration, there were some tricky questions. I attempted around 50 questions. Mostly, questions in this section were asked from Mensuration and Geometry."

Nitish Kumar, who has applied for IMA said, "The paper of Elementary Mathematics was moderate. 40 to 50 questions were from Advanced Mathematics. Other questions were from basic Mathematics. For IMA, the cutoff might be around 132 since the English Paper was very easy."

Manu Singh Tomar, who has applied for IMA said, " The overall difficulty level of Elementary Mathematics was moderate to difficulty." 

Bhagesh who came from Haryana said, "The Algebra questions were tough. The Arithmetic questions were easy. The overall difficulty level was difficult."

CDS 2020 Exam Analysis for English

The paper comprised 120 objective type questions. One-third marks assigned to a particular question is deducted for wrong answers. Questions were asked from RC, spotting errors, fillers, antonyms, synonyms, idioms & phrases and cloze test, etc. The level of questions was easy. CDS 2020 Exam Analysis for Elementary Mathematics

The Elementary Maths paper was conducted from 3 PM to 5 PM for 100 marks. The paper was difficult in terms of difficulty level. The questions asked in the exam were tricky and lengthy.
