Coronavirus: Gujarat Government Cancels Recruitment Exams

With an aim to stop the spread of coronavirus in Gujarat, the state government has decided to cancel all recruitment exams which are scheduled to be held till March 31. The government release issued regarding the same mentions that the exams will be conducted after April 20.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, along with his deputy Nitin Patel, has reviewed the preparedness of the state machinery to tackle COVID-19. The meeting was held after two positive cases of coronavirus have been detected in the state. The decision to cancel the exams has been taken in the meeting as a precautionary measure.

Like Gujarat, several other states have also cancelled the recruitment exams following the outbreak of COVID-19. Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has postponed Block Education Officer (BEO). The exam was scheduled to be conducted on March 22. Even, HSSC has cancelled UDC, Assistant Linemen and instructor exams which were scheduled to be conducted between March 15 to March 18. Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has also postponed all its exams.

Tamil Nadu Group IV Typist Grade III exam which was scheduled to be held from Mach 20 to April 7 has also been postponed. Also, Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has also postponed all their recruitment exams.

UPSSSC Junior Assistant & Clerk Exam which was slated to be held from March 18 to 26, 2020 has also been postponed due to COVID-19. HPPSC Lecturer exam has also been postponed. The exam was scheduled to be conducted on March 22. The next date will be intimated to candidates in due course. The Odisha Public Service Commission has also cancelled the exam and viva voce of various exams.
