TNPSC Group 2 prelims result was released online on November 9. There are 5,529 vacancies in the TNPSC Group 2 exam 2022. The number of candidates who were selected for the main exam was around 55,290 (ten times the number of vacancies). This makes the exam one of the largest exams in the state.

What is TNPSC Group-2?
The full name of the TNPSC Group 2 exam is - Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Combined Civil Services Examination-II (CCSE-II). TNPSC conducts the Combined Civil Services Examination-II (CCSE-II) to shortlist candidates for recruitment to various Civil Services in Tamil Nadu. The commission conducts the CCSE-II exam for different posts released under Group 2 and 2A. The significance of TNPSC Group 2 and TNPSC Group 2A can be defined as under:
- Group 2 (Interview Posts): Selection of candidates for vacancies released under Group 2 is done on the basis of the preliminary exam, main written exam and oral test (interview)
- Group 2A (Non-Interview Posts): Selection of candidates for vacancies released under Group 2A is done based on marks obtained in them in the written exam only.

TNPSC Group-2 Hall Ticket 2022
The Commission releases the main exam hall ticket ten days before the exam day. TNPSC Group 2 hall ticket 2022 for the main exam is expected on February 15. The main exam will be conducted on February 25, 2023. The candidates should start the preparation for the main exam because it requires a dedicated and planned preparation of over six months. It may be noted that the TNPSC Group-2 hall ticket was an essential document required to appear in the exam.
TNPSC Group 2 2023
The Commission will not release the TNPSC Group 2 notification in 2023. There will be no TNPSC Group 2 prelims exam in 2023. The Commission released the official exam calendar having no mention of TNPSC Group 2 2023 notification. It made it clear that the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission will not release the official notification in 2023.

TNPSC Group 2 Results
TNPSC released the Group-2 results (prelims) on November 9, 2022. The TNPSC Group-2 result was declared online only. The candidates are required to search for their roll number and check their results. The Commission released the result pdf. The candidates should download their result pdf for future reference.
TNPSC Group 2 Cut off
The Commission did not release the category-wise cutoff with the result. TNPSC Group 2 cut-off will be released later. The candidates can see here the TNPSC Group 2 cut-off of previous years. The cutoff provides a clear insight into the difficulty level of the exam.
TNPSC Group 2 Answer Key
The candidates must refer to the answer key to get the official answers to the questions. TNPSC Group 2 answer key (tentative) was released online on May 27. The Commission is yet to release the final answer key.
TNPSC Group 2 Apply Online
The Commission released the notification online. The notification mention all the important instructions for the application. TNPSC Group-2 apply online link is activated after the release of the official notification on February 23, 2022. The candidates could register and apply for the exam till March 23. Note: There is no maximum age limit for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ SC (Arunthathiyars), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Most Backward Class (MBC)/ Denotified Community (DC), Backward Class (BC), Backward Classes (Muslims) and destitute widows of all categories. The maximum age limit means that candidates should not have completed 58 years of age on the date of notification or at the time of selection to a particular post.
The official website informs, “Applicants not belonging to SCs, SC (A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM) and BCM who have put in five years and more of service in the State/Central Government are not eligible even if they are within the age limit.”

Age Relaxation in TNPSC Group 2
- Age concession up to 10 years above the maximum age limit is given to differently-abled persons
- The maximum age limit for ex-servicemen is 48 years. However, it may be noted that the age concession does not apply to ex-servicemen applicants who have already been recruited to any class or service or category.

TNPSC Group 2 Selection Process
TNPSC Group-2 selection process includes the following stages:
- Preliminary exam (written): Candidates applying for the exam need to appear for the preliminary exam, which is an objective-type written test.
- Mains exam (written): Candidates qualified in the preliminary exam need to appear for the mains exam, which is a descriptive written test.
- Oral test (interview): Candidates who declared passed the main exam need to appear for the oral test.
TNPSC Group 2 Exam Centre
TNPSC exam centres are located in all the districts of the state. The candidates can choose the exam centres at their convenience. The TNPSC Group 2 exam is conducted offline across the state. The allocation of the exam centre is based on the number of candidates opting for that TNPSC Group 2 exam centre.
TNPSC Group 2 Syllabus
The Commission revised the Group-2 syllabus after the modification suggested by the state government. As per the new guidelines, a new section of Tamil Language questions was introduced in the preliminary paper. There will be 100 objective-type questions. The candidates can opt either for the English section or Tamil section. The rest of the sections are similar for everyone.

TNPSC Group 2 Exam Pattern (Revised)
After the introduction of the Tamil Language Eligibility Test in the preliminary exam, the exam pattern was bound to change. As per the new TNPSC Group -2 exam pattern, there were 100 multiple-choice questions for testing the knowledge of the Tamil Language. The candidates can opt for the General English section also instead of Tamil questions. The questions were of SSLC standard. The TNPSC Group 2 Exam Duration is 3 hours. The TNPSC Group 2 exam was conducted based on the following revised pattern:

The candidates should understand that the questions in PART A will be in Tamil Language and the questions in Part B will be in Tamil and English. The Part B of the answer sheets will be evaluated only, if the candidate secures minimum qualifying marks 40% (i.e., 60 Marks) in Part A. The final merit of the TNPSC Group 2 prelims exam will be calculated by adding the marks secured in both parts (Part A + Part B)
TNPSC Group-2 Counselling
TNPSC counselling is conducted at the office of the commission. In the counselling, candidates are recruited to different posts on the basis of choice exercised by them as well as the availability of vacancies in their categories. The candidates who clear the main exam and oral test will be called for counselling.
