UPSC released the IAS Main Result 2020 with names. The Union Public Service Commission released the IAS Main result 2020 with roll numbers on March 23. UPSC is following this pattern of releasing the result with names after the traditional result with roll numbers. The candidates qualified in the IAS Main (written) exam will be called for the personality test at the UPSC office premises in New Delhi.

The Minister of State for Personnel Department, Jitendra Singh announced in the Lok Sabha that there will be 200 vacancies for the Indian Police Service (IPS) each year, including Civil Service Exam 2020. This announcement brings joy to the candidates qualified for the personality test because they will have a greater probability of getting in IPS.

The UPSC interview is the last stage of the IAS recruitment process and UPSC evaluate the suitability of the candidate for the services. The candidate needs to produce all his/her academic, professional and claim related certificates in their original form. As per the UPSC guidelines, the certificate related to any claims must be issued before the last date of IAS application of the exam year. It implies that the certificate issue date should be before March 3, 2020 (The last date of IAS application 2020).

Since the COVID-19 cases are rising again, the UPSC will issue instructions to the candidates regarding the social distancing and other procedures to follow on the day of the personality test. Last year, the UPSC reimbursed the minimum to and fro airfare for the shortest route to New Delhi. The IAS 2021 Prelims exam will be conducted on June 27.
