IAS result 2022 for prelims has been declared by the Commission on June 22. UPSC released the IAS prelims result 2022 in a record time of fifteen days. This is the fastest declaration of results in recent times. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the roll number of the candidates eligible to appear in the IAS main exam 2022. The names of the qualified candidates will be released later. The IAS main exam 2022 is scheduled to be conducted from September 16 to 25.
This year, Civil Service Prelims (CSP) result 2022 recommended more candidates for the main exam because the number of vacancies is higher in comparison with the previous years.
How to Check the IAS Result 2022 for Prelims?
The candidates can check the IAS result in the following way
Step 1. Go to the official website - upsc.gov.in
Step 2. Go to the What's New Section & click on the UPSC Civil Service (IAS) exam result link appearing on screen
Step 3. On clicking above, the "Result: Civil Services 2022" link will appear
Step 4. Click on the link as appear above, The UPSC IAS 2022 Result will appear on the screen

IAS result 2021 was declared on May 30. Shruti Sharma, Ankita Agarwal and Gamini Singla achieved the top three positions in the Civil Service Exam Result 2021. A total of 685 candidates were selected against the firm vacancies of 749. The result of one candidate was withheld. Shruti Sharma is an alumnus of Delhi School of Economics and a graduate of St. Stephens College under Delhi University. She is pursuing Masters in Sociology. UPSC will release the mark sheet of the IAS toppers very soon mentioning the total marks of each of the selected candidates.

UPSC Result 2020 was declared on September 24, 2021. A total of 761 candidates were selected against the 836 vacancies. Shubham Kumar topped the Civil Service Exam 2020. Jagrati Awasthi stood second in the exam. Ankita Jain ranked third in the prestigious exam. UPSC also mentioned that it is maintaining a consolidated reserve list of 150 candidates. As per the official notification, the number of candidates who pass in the IAS main (written) result will be twice the number of vacancies given in the official notification.IAS personality test is the last stage of the IAS selection process and the chances of final selection increase very much once the candidate makes in the IAS main(written) result. One out of the two candidates is finally selected in the Civil Services after the IAS interview. This implies that the selection probability of the candidate is 50% after his/her name appears in IAS main(written) result.
After the IAS main(written) result, the candidates are called for the IAS interview at the UPSC office in New Delhi. The candidates need to carry all the original documents related to their academic and professional qualifications and experience. These documents will be verified by the office staff of UPSC. After the document verification, the candidates will proceed for the IAS interview.
UPSC Civil Services (IAS) result is declared for each of the exam stages separately. The IAS result(final) is announced after the IAS interview. It takes into account the marks obtained in the IAS main and IAS interview(personality test). The marks of IAS prelims are not taken into consideration for the final result.
Selection criteria for Mains exam: On the basis of marks secured by candidates in paper-I of the Preliminary exam a merit list is released by UPSC. It may be noted that paper-II of the Preliminary is exam is qualifying in nature with minimum 33% marks. All candidates whose names/ roll numbers appear in the merit list are eligible to appear for the Mains exam. The official website informs, “The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination will be about twelve to thirteen times the number of vacancies to be filled in the year through this examination.”
Selection criteria for Interview: Candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in the written part of the Main Exam are called for an interview for a personality test. The number of candidates called for the UPSC interview are usually twice of the number of vacancies to be filled, informs the official website. The interview carries weight-age of 275 marks with no minimum qualifying marks.
A final merit list is released by UPSC on the basis of marks secured by candidates in Main exam (written test and interview). All candidates whose names/ roll numbers appear in the final merit list released by the commission are then allotted to different services on the basis of their rank in the exam as well as preferences made by them for different posts and services.
