UPSC released the IES timetable on June 16. The Engineering Services Prelims 2021 will be conducted on July 18 as per the UPSC exam calendar. The IES Prelims 2021 exam will be conducted in two shifts on July 18, across the nation. Some candidates were demanding to postpone the IES 2021 Prelims exam because the IAS Prelims 2021 was postponed, but the UPSC put a break on such apprehensions.

IES Prelims exam is a yearly Megha event for lakhs of engineering graduates. The IES exam postponed, the opportunity to serve the nation. The candidates are directly appointed to the position of Executive Engineer in various Central Government departments.

There will be a negative marking for each of the wrong answer marked by the candidates. For each wrong answer, one-third of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted from the aggregate score of the candidate. There will be no deduction of marks in case the candidates do not mark the answer in the OMR answer sheet.

The IES prelims exam is a qualifying exam only and the marks secured in the IES Prelims exam is not considered for the final merit. The candidate needs to score more than the IES prelims cut off decided by the UPSC after the exam. The IES prelims cut off is different for each of the category based on the number of IES vacancies in that category. The IES Prelims 2021 will be conducted as per the timetable given below.
