UPSC Prelims 2020 result released with names. Check the names of IAS prelims qualified candidates.

UPCS prelim 2020 result was released again but this time with the names of the candidates. The IAS Prelims 2020 exam was conducted on October 4, 20220. The UPSC Prelims result 2020 was released on October 23, 2020 mentioning the roll numbers of the qualified candidates. The UPSC releases the Civil Services results mentioning the names to double-check the details of the candidates.

This was for the first time in the recent history that the UPSC prelims result was released in nineteen days of the exam. The high absent ratio can be one of the reasons for such swift declaration of the result. The passing percentage of the IAS prelims exam is very low and over ninety-nine per cent candidates do not qualify the exam. As per the previous year’s media reports, around six lakh candidates appeared in the IAS prelims exam and only around three thousand cleared the IAS main exam and appeared in the IAS interviews. The passing percentage in the IAS prelims is lowest among all the three stages of the UPSC exam.

The UPSC issued the Civil Services Exam 2020 notification in February and the IAS prelims 2020 exam was scheduled for May 31 but because of the coronavirus pandemic, the IAS prelims exam was postponed and the new date for the IAS Prelims 2020 on July 5. The IAS Prelims exam is a screening exam only and the marks secured in the IAS prelims exam is not considered for the final UPSC result.

The IAS Prelims exam is an objective type exam conducted offline simultaneously across the nation. The IAS Prelims exam has two papers out of which the Aptitude paper (CSAT) is only of qualifying in nature and the marks secured in the CSAT paper is not considered for the IAS Prelims exam result.
