The Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, in a videoconference interaction with the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNNA), mooted establishing a training centre to help the women in preparing for Civil Services Exam in India. He named this initiative as โ€œWomen Super 30โ€.

Minister of State for Department of Personnel and Training, Dr Jitendra Singh asked Smt. Smriti Irani, Minister of Women and Child Development, to chalk out the plan for the Super Women 30 initiative.

There is a National Gender Centre in the LBSNNA and its functioning and objectives were explained to Ms Smriti Irani, present at the video conferencing event. In recent years, the participation of women candidates in civil services is increasing. In fact, until the preceding year to last year, women candidates topped the prestigious UPSCโ€™s IAS Exam three years in a row.

These results have motivated the female candidates to prepare for civil services. The ratio of women IAS probationers to the males is 20 to 25%. This ratio needs to be increased to 50:50.
