NIRF Rankings 2025 Agriculture: The Ministry of Education released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 on September 4 for Agriculture and Allied Sectors. The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) has once again secured Rank 1 in this category, followed by ICAR at second place and Punjab Agricultural University at third. Notably, the top 5 institutions in the NIRF Agriculture Rankings 2025 have retained their positions from last year.
The NIRF ranking framework provides a structured methodology to rank institutions nationwide. The NIRF rankings are derived from the recommendations of a Core Committee constituted by the Ministry of Education (formerly MHRD), which defines the broad parameters for evaluating universities and institutions.

These include: Teaching, Learning and Resources: evaluating faculty strength, infrastructure, and student-faculty ratio; Research and Professional Practice: covering publications, patents, and research quality; Graduation Outcomes: tracking student success through placements, higher studies, and entrepreneurship; Outreach and Inclusivity: measuring diversity, gender balance, and regional representation; and Perception: reflecting the views of employers, peers, and the public.
