University of Mumbai has postponed all exams scheduled for August 8 to August 19 due to Narali Pournima holiday.

University of Mumbai has issued an official notice announcing revised schedule for all Summer 2025 examinations that were to be held on August 8, 2025, postponing them to August 19, 2025. The change has been announced due to local holiday for Narali Pournima declared by Maharashtra government.

In a circular issued on August 11, 2025, Board of Examinations & Evaluation directed principals of affiliated colleges in Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, and Pharmacy, as well as Director of Centre for Distance & Online Education (CDOE), to inform candidates about change. Time and venue for rescheduled papers will remain same as originally planned.

The announcement was shared through university’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, announcing shift and advising students to check with their respective institutions for any further clarifications. The notice specifies that the rescheduling applies to all papers originally fixed for August 8, across faculties and modes of study.

Q:   Is there an entrance exam for MA at Mumbai University?
A:

No, the university does not conduct or accept any entrance exam for MA admission. Candidates seeking admission are only required to submit the pre-enrollment form along with the application form to get admission. However, for a few MA courses, the University/ MU-affiliated college conducts a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) after the written test. Selected candidates, who find their names in their merit lists released by the University, are required to appear for a document verification process to confirm their seat. Q:   Who is eligible for LLM in Mumbai University?
A:

As per this year's 2023 admission process, Candidates who have passed LL.B. or those who have appeared for the Final Semester Examinations of the 3 or 5-year LL.B. Programme from the University of Mumbai or any other recognised University are eligible to apply for the online LL.M. Common Entrance Examination 2023. Mumbai University LLM Admission is entirely based on LLM CET exam conducted by the University.

Q:   How can I know if I am eligible for BTech at MU?
A:

 To be eligible for BTech at Mumbai University affiliated colleges, students must fulfil the below eligibility criteria:

  • They must be a pass in Class 12 with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects and have a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for backward categories students from Maharashtra) 
  • For Biomedical and Biotech Engineering specialisations: Candidates, along with the specialisation mentioned above, must have Biology as a qualifying exam with a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for backward categories students from Maharashtra)
