Tamil Nadu NEET Ranking List 2020: 7.5 per cent seats reserved for government school students
This year, 7.5 per cent of seats are reserved by the state government for the medical students studying in government schools.
Tamil Nadu NEET Rank List 2020: According to the official data released by the authorities, the rank list for Tamil Nadu NEET 2020 reveals that the cut-off marks for MBBS/BDS admission for all students this year has gone up by 80 marks, compared to last year (for both open and reserved category). Health Minister C Vijayabaskar tweeted about the release of the NEET merit list and the list was made available for the candidates on its official website, i.e. tnhealth.tn.gov.in.
The minister through his official Twitter handle said “The rank list for the TN #Medicalcounselling is published. As committed by Hon’ble CM, the list includes the 7.5 per cent reservation for govt school students. The counselling will commence from 18th Nov at Nehru Indoor Stadium w/ social distancing norms. My best wishes! @CMOTamilNadu,” Health Minister tweeted. Check the official tweet below:
According to the official reports, the selection committee confirmed Srijan R from the Indian Public School (Tiruppur-based) in Erode topped the list with 710 marks in NEET 2020, followed by Namakkal-based Mohanaprabha Ravichandran of Alpine Public School with 705 marks. Chennai’s G Swetha from Velammal Vidyalaya, Ayanambakkam, who got 701 marks, stood third.
“Among government school students, Jeevithkumar N from the Government Model Higher Secondary School in Silvarpatti in the Theni district topped the list with 664 marks, followed by Kallakurichi-based Anbarasan S from Government Boys Higher Secondary Schools. He scored 646 marks. Chennai’s Dhivaydharshini S from Government Higher Secondary School in Arumbakkam scored 620 marks. At least 14 government students have scored above 500 marks. The cut-off for the government school students is estimated to be around 180 marks,” the report stated.
This year, 7.5 per cent of seats are reserved by the state government for the medical students studying in the government schools. The new law aims at providing a 7.5 per cent horizontal quota for students who have studied in state government schools and qualified NEET 2020 exam for admissions to undergraduate medical courses. The 7.5 per cent quota will be ensured for students who have studied from classes 6 to 12 in government schools. The horizontal reservation shall be provided in each category of vertical reservation followed in Tamil Nadu within 69 per cent reservation from the academic year 2020-21.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the merit list link
Step 3: A pdf file with name of qualified candidates will appear
