UGC directs HEIs to celebrate World Entrepreneurs Day 2023 from Aug 21 to Aug 31

UGC requested all higher educational institutions to celebrate World Entrepreneurs Day 2023 from August 21 to August 31, 2023.

UGC has directed all the higher educational institutions to participate in the World Entrepreneurs Day 2023 from August 21 to August 31, 2023.

It is being celebrated to promote vision of entrepreneurship as a viable avenue for employment among the youth and to support the aspiring entrepreneurs. The NEP 2020 focuses upon establishing an educational landscape that caters to the overall development of students to create industry ready workforce to meet global industry requirements with an emphasis on nurturing entrepreneurship and start up ecosystem.

"The Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are requested to celebrate the World Entrepreneurs' Day from August 21 to August 31, 2023. Students participation may be encouraged through activities like seminars, essay writing, quizzes, debate competitions, writing of slogans, posters, banners etc and give wide publicity to the same," said UGC statement.

"HEIs may focus on the objective of Innovation and Entrepreneurship by organising events/programmes with industry, Innovators and business leaders and young entrepreneurs on various themes of entrepreneurship eg- Entrepreneurship as an Alternate Career Choice, Entrepreneurship for Self Reliant India, Entrepreneurship for Everyone, Start-up Ecosystem etc," added UGC.

UGC recently released revised guidelines and curriculum for introduction of life skills courses for undergraduate students (Jeevan Kaushal 2.0). In this UGC added some unique skills such as how to use Google search better, yoga and pranayam and resume writing.
