RRB NTPC & Group D recruitments 2020: Why CBT exams are delayed?
RRB NTPC & Group D exams are delayed for the past one year. Know here the reasons why the exams have been delayed.
More than one crore candidates have applied for RRB NTPC and RRB Group D recruitment exams. A total of 35,208 vacancies have been announced for RRB NTPC while 1,03,769 vacancies have been announced for RRB Group D. The notifications for these exams were released in 2019. For past one year, the recruitment process for both the exams has been postponed. According to some media reports, RRB NTPC and RRB Group D exams are likely to be conducted by the end of this year. The delay in the recruitment exam is basically due to the non-finalisation of the exam conducting agency.
Here are the reasons behind the delay in the major exams conducted by the Indian railways.
Exam Conducting Agency:
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) are yet to finalise the exam conducting agency. Post this, the exam will be conducted. RRBs have already floated tender notice inviting applications from the prospective vendors. The exam conducting agency will conduct the multiple stages of computer-based test, computer-based aptitude test, typing skill test, document verification and all other related services in connection with the exams.
Delay in tender and bidding for ECA
Although the tender notice had been published by the RRBs. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, the dates of pre-bid conference, last date and time for receipt of offers/bids through e-tender online and time & date of opening technical bids received in response to the tender have been revised several times.
Conducting the online exams
Life is not like it used to be before due to the pandemic situation. The Railways will have to conduct the exams while thinking about the safety of candidates.
RRB Group D admit card and RRB NTPC admit card will be released four days before the scheduled date of CBT. Prior to the release of admit card, the examination authority will release exam city and exam dates.
According to RRB NTPC exam pattern, the first stage CBT test will have three sections. Total marks of the test are 100. The CBT as per RRB Group D exam pattern will comprise four sections. Total marks of the test are 100.
RRB Group D syllabus comprises topics from General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness and Current Affairs. RRB NTPC syllabus comprises questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness.
RRB NTPC 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Typing Skill Test/Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable) and Document Verification/Medical Examination. RRB Group D selection process includes CBT, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification and Medical Examination.
