The college ranking plays an important role when you have to select the college for pursuing the AME course because a good All India ranking itself serves as testimony for the excellent coursework structure, teaching expertise, research opportunities, lab training, and placements. Plus, top recruiters give more importance to students from premier institutes and offer them promising salary packages.

Having said that, apart from the college ranking, you must check for the course fees and laumni feedback to make an informed decision for your future.

You do not have much scope when it comes to the customization of the AME syllabus based on your interests because each institution keeps certain fixed subject modules for you to cover during the course duration to enable you to become certified aircraft maintenance engineers and get a license from the DGCA. You will learn about the core concepts, techniques, and procedures important to excel at your job.

The only scope is when you opt for the stream based on your interests, be it the Mechanical stream or the Avionics stream. A few subjects may vary in the syllabus for the two streams, but you cannot customize the syllabus.

The syllabus and course focus of both specializations would differ on the basis of the college offering the course. The approach of the AME Mechanical stream course is towards the maintenance of jet engines and piston engines, while the Avionics stream is more inclined towards the maintenance of electronic systems of the aircraft. You can choose the stream that interests you more.

Yes, of course. The Aircraft Maintenance Engg. admission can be easily done on the basis of Class 12 board exam marks, with more than 70 colleges in India taking in students via merit basis. Those top colleges may conduct extra admission rounds for admission, like the GD or PI, to assess the knowledge and capabilities of the applicants.
