The major difference between Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering is that the first one deals with working of machines and devices while the latter focuses on things that fly and orbit the Earth in space. Aerospace Engineers are more likely to work for the military and government as compared to Mechanical Engineers. While it comes to employment, mechanical Engineering has a wider scope. Both Mechanical as well as Aerospace Engineers get a decent salary. At the end, all that matters is which stream you are more inclined to. When you do what interests you the most is when you will be successful in life.
