Aerospace engineering is concerned with designing and building aircraft and spacecraft. A Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering would likely include both specializations, whereas, a Bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering jobs would focus solely on those vehicles that fly within the Earth's atmosphere.

Acharya does conduct campus selection but I'm not completely sure whether Aerospace companies come for selection or not. But don't worry, I'll get back to you with the answer after the weekend.

Hello Anand, Normally speaking its aeronautical engineering to be studied and aerospace industry in which one will work. But in India many colleges use aerospace to hoodwink students. In India both are same. Something like BE and B.Tech!

Hello Anand, You would be most surprised. Both these organisations recruit very less number of aeronautical or aerospace engineers. Just imagine a flying object. They recruit in all related fields. Communication, Chemical, Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Electrical, Mechanical etc. You can be expert in any field to get employment in these organisations.

Yes, of course, but you have to prepare from the syllabus of aerospace engineering only. The B.Tech syllabus of aerospace engineering will be given in the test of GATE exam. You can join the coaching since you are shifting the branch which may lead to face some difficulty. Don't worry focus, work hard and study well. You will definitely get the college through GATE.

Those who opt for this field, should pass their plus two examination under the Science stream, specially in physics and math's. For pursuing a career in theoretical or observational astronomy one may go through the Science stream after plus two. Since universities offering undergraduate programme in Astronomy are rarely found, one can join for a major/ honours in Physics with Mathematics as a subsidiary subject.
