Alliance University conducts it's own entrance exam for giving admission the first year of engineering students in the final year in class 12th or those who passed 12th standard. University also gives admission to the Diploma holders directly in second year of four year engineering course called lateral admission. Not only in Karnataka, but in the many states of the country almost 50% seats are remaining unfilled. It appears that there could be a similar case in the state of Karnataka since in spite of searching many websites I could not find mention of closing rank in any one of them for aeronautical engineering branch in

Placements is a very dynamic subject. Of course sincere management and an excellent team go a long way in providing students best of the opportunities for placements. But then economic and industrial condition of the country plays an important role in this whole business of placements. When the things are going good even lower ranked colleges get recruiters and place their students, but in hard times even the best of colleges including IIT's find it tough to place their students. Your academic record appears to be quite good. Scoring a percentile of above 85 in JEE Mains is indeed an exceptional result. However, a majority of students are desirous of getting a seat in CSE branch and hence the closing percentiles are very high. For aeronautical or aerospace engineering, you have a chance because this branch is available only in IITs and you will definitely be clearing JEE Mains and can appear for JEE Advanced.
