Pantnagar University, is the first agricultural university of India. It was inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru on 17th November 1960, as the "Uttar Pradesh Agricultural University" (UPAU). Later the name was changed to "Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology" in 1972 in memory of the first chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, statesman and Bharat Ratna recipient Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant. The University was declared as the best among all the other State Universities in India, in 1997. The University lies in the campus-town of Pantnagar in the district of Udham Singh Nagarin the state of Uttarakhand. The university is regarded as the harbinger of Green Revolution in India.

20th August, 1946 in the Osmania University campus. Subsequently, the University was shifted to the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University on 10th July, 1964 and presently working under the umbrella of one of the best University in the country I. e. ANGR Agricultural University from 14-11-1996. The College was established to impart the knowledge to the students and farmers of Telangana region in the field of agriculture. The College has completed its 60 years of establishment and organized the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the College during the year 1971, Golden Jubilee celebrations during the year 1996 and Diamond Jubilee celebrations recently during the year 2006. The College was started with only one B.Sc. (Ag) degree programme and to meet the manpower needs of the country with changing scenario in the field of agriculture two more degree programmes at UG level namely B.Sc. (Hort. ). And B.Sc. (CA&BM) were subsequently started at this College during the year 1982 and 2003, respectively. The College is first of its kind in the State and second in the South India to start the M.Sc. (Ag) P. G. programme in the year 1958 and Ph.D. programme during the year 1975. Subsequently another PG programme in the field of Horticulture was also started at this College during the year 1985. Further, to cater the specific requirements of the industry, more special programmes at PG level like MABM (Master of Agricultural Business Management), M.Sc.

Scientific concepts used in stages such as fish capture, processing, preservation, packing of fish and fish products, and subsequent transportation of them to other places. Legal as well marketing aspectsrelated to the fishing industry. An interdisciplinary examination of information from different fields like Oceanography, Management, Economics, Ecology, and Biology. Various aspects related to the breeding of fish along with farming and husbandry of important types of fish and aquatic organisms. Fish farms employ technicians and general workers to carry out feeding duties, monitoring stock, and identifying any problems or diseases. These engineers are in charge of operating and maintaining fish farm equipment such as water pumps and water treatment devices. Fish farm managers oversee all but everything, and deal with corporate responsibilities such as budget control and client meetings.

4-year full-time undergraduate graduate course divided into 8 semesters. The course focuses on the fishing sector and its many sub-divisions. The programme involves the application of concepts of Biology and Physical Science to a study of fish, their ecosystem, food habits, diseases occurring in them and breeding practise, etc. The programme is a specialised study of:

Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts All India Entrance Examination (AIEEA) in June for postgraduate (PG) course admissions. On the basis of an aspirants performance in ICAR AIEEA 2018 exam, he/she is offered admission in 20 (Science) subject groups, which are, Plant Biotechnology, Plant Sciences, Physical Science, Entomology and Nematology, Agronomy, Social Science, Statistical Sciences, Forestry/ Agroforestry/ Silviculture, Agriculture Engineering & Technology, Water Science & Technology, Home Science, Animal Bio-Technology, Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Fisheries Sciences, Dairy Sciences, Dairy Technology, Food Science & Technology and Agri Business Management.

The Institute of Agriculture, BHU offers a 4 year B.Sc. In Agriculture for a fee of Rs. 15,000 per annum, with a large chunk of the fee sponsored by the government. Financial assistance is available for students with merit and students in need.
