There are degrees/Certifications in Film Making, Direction Animation etc. While doing a basic Mass Media Course all these can be done. Together. To do a specialisation in ONE out of the Two Direction and Animation, a Degree in Animation can be pursued. If you mean DOING THESE TWO AS CAREERS/WORKS (NOT Studies) these can surely be done together in the filed.

Hello,
It is as simple is that- you can not say film direction is only a job where you expect fix salary on month end, while in animation career there are various streams where you may get into a job as an employee on a fixed salary. I would say job wise animation is good stream than to film direction.
Thank you!

Hello,
Yes, you may complete both the courses, but it would be hard to focus on either of them. Fine arts has lot of in itself to learn so in animation. I would suggest you to complete your fine arts while pursuing some Diploma course in animation. B.Sc in animation or Diploma in animation degree does not matter. If your basic skills like sketching layout design composition color theory etc. are strong, then you just need to learn software to apply them digitally.
That can be learned easily in any animation institute.
Thank you.

2D Animation. (Vector-Based)
3D Animation. (CGI, Computer Animation)
Motion Graphics. (Typography, Animated Logos)
Stop Motion. (Claymation, Cut-Outs).
