According to students, the AIFD WAT exam is in the range of average, which is neither too easy and nor too tough. The candidate, however, has to know the syllabus and its core subjects thoroughly in order to score well.
Also, it is recommended that the candidate starts their preparation early. This will help the candidate complete the syllabus on time. Sample papers and previous years' question papers are also great tools to prepare for an exam like AIFD WAT 2024.

The question paper of AIFD WAT 2025 will be based on General Awareness, Intelligence & Reasoning and English Language Competency & Comprehension. Besides these candidates are also recommended to practice sketching and shading to perform well in the design aptitude questions.
The syllabus will help the candidate identify which topics to study, the weightage of topics, etc.
Along with the syllabus, the candidate must also carefully go through the official exam pattern.

For admissions to four-year UG Fashion and Apparel Design programme, candidates should have passed Class XII with at least 35% aggregate marks from a recognised board. Candidates who pass Class XII through open school or distance education system are not eligible for AIFD admissions. It is to be noted that only children of Army personnel or ex- Army personnel can register for AIFD exam.
Only such candidates who meet the prescrived criteria must apply. If the candidate doesn't meet the criteria, his or her applications may be cancelled.

The AIFD WAT seat acceptance fee, which includes institute fee (Rs. 10,000) and hostel fee (Rs. 5,000) has to be paid online through RTGS/NEFT. In case the candidate fails to make the payment, his or her seat allotment will be cancelled.
Candidates will be allocated seats as per their merit ranks. In case the candidate fails to meet the cut-off, he or she will be considered for admission in subsequent rounds (if available).
