The ASRB ICAR NET 2025 exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only at the designated centres. The question in the examination will be available in bilingual form that is in Hindi and English medium. The answers to the questions are to be registered on the computer itself during the examination.

The exam pattern for the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board Indian Council Agricultural Research National Eligibility Test (ASRB ICAR NET) is provided along with the notification PDF. The exam pattern for ASRB ICAR NET is given below:
- The exam involves only one paper
- The exam carries 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 150 marks
- Candidates are allotted two hours
- Each question carries one mark and there is a negative marking of 1/3rd marks
- There is no rounding off of fractions of marks

To ascertain a candidate's eligibility for a lecturer or assistant professor position at a State Agricultural University (SAU) or another Agricultural University (AU), the Agriculture Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) conducts the ASRB NET, also known as the Indian Council of Agriculture Research NET. Those having master's degrees and related academic backgrounds can take this exam to be considered for several discipline roles. This test is qualifying in nature; it gives candidates access to apply for positions that various agricultural universities have open.

The candidates must keep the enlisted things handy while filling out the ASRB ICAR NET application form:
- ASRB NET Combined Notification
- Complete Permanent and Correspondence Address
- Matriculation or equivalent Certificate
- Master’s Degree Certificate along with mark sheet
- Doctorate Degree Certificate along with mark sheet
- Valid and active e-mail id
- Name of the centres and their address
- Scanned copy of a recent passport-size photograph with white background and as per prescribed size and formats. Also, in the photographs, the face should cover 2/3rd of the total space
- Signatures have to be done in Black/Blue ink on white paper followin

The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) releases the eligibility criteria to appear for the ICAR NET (Indian Council Agricultural Research National Eligibility Test) along with the notification PDF. The candidates who want to appear for the ICAR NET exam must qualify for the eligibility criteria to appear for the exam. The eligibility criteria of the ICAR NET has been given below:
- Educational Qualification: A master's degree or equivalent in the same discipline for which one is applying
- Age: The minimum age limit is 21 years and there is no upper age limit for ASRB NET
- ARS: 21 to 32 years (as of 1st August 2025).
