ASRB ICAR NET 2025: Registration Last Date (June 5), Notification (Out), Exam Date, Eligibility Criteria, Pattern, Syllabus & More

The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) started the application process on April 22, 2025. The authority released 582 vacancies on its official website at ascrb.org.in. The last date to apply is June 5, 2025 (extended). The notification was released on February 24, 2025.

To ascertain a candidate's eligibility for a lecturer or assistant professor position at a State Agricultural University (SAU) or another Agricultural University (AU), the Agriculture Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) conducts the ASRB NET, also known as the Indian Council of Agriculture Research NET. Those having master's degrees and related academic backgrounds can take this exam to be considered for several discipline roles. This test is qualifying in nature; it gives candidates access to apply for positions that various agricultural universities have open.

No. Candidates are required to apply online only using the online application form link available on the official website. No other mode of submission of an application is allowed. Candidates must exercise their option in the application form for being considered either for NET only or ARS only or SMS only or STO only or any combination of the four.

The maximum number of attempts to sit for the examination is 5. But, it is not allowed for SC or ST candidates who are otherwise qualified and have unlimited attempt limit. The ASRB conducts the ICAR NET examination once or twice every year depending on factors such as vacancies, demand in agriculture research and education, and resources and administrative aspects of examination authority.

• The exam involves only one paper
• The exam carries 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 150 marks
• Candidates are allotted two hours
• Each question carries one mark and there is a negative marking of 1/3rd marks

The authority will conduct the ASRB ICAR NET 2025 exam in an online mode. The standard of paper will be that of a Masters' degree from an Indian University in the relevant discipline. The Board reserves the right to fix or revise the qualifying marks in any or all disciplines at its discretion.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) released the notification for the NET (National Eligibility Test) PDF on the official website-asrb.org.in on February 24, 2025. Along with the release of the ICAR NET notification pdf, the online application process dates were released. The notification consists of the details of the ICAR NET exam like eligibility, syllabus, exam dates, application dates and more.

The ASRB ICAR NET exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only at the designated centres. The question will be available in bilingual, Hindi and English medium. The answers to the questions are to be registered on the computer itself during the examination.

The reporting time of the ASRB ICAR NET will be mentioned on the admit card. It is advised that candidates should reach the examination centre atleast thirty minutes before the reporting time So that all the formalities including the verification etc. commenced properly. If candidate arrive late then he or she will not be allowed to take the exam.
