What is ASRB NET?

The Agriculture Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) conducts the ASRB NET, also known as ICAR NET (Indian Council of Agriculture Research NET) to determine the eligibility of candidates as Lecturers / Assistant Professors in State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs). Master's degree holders with the relevant academic background can appear for this exam to become eligible for the posts in multiple disciplines. This exam is qualifying in nature, it enables applicants to apply against the vacancies released by different agricultural universities. The ASRB NET exam includes only one paper. However, candidates can choose the subject of the paper from the list of 60 subjects. ASRB NET Eligibility 2022

The basic ASRB NET eligibility criteria are given below:

Educational qualification: A master's degree or equivalent in the same discipline for which one is applying.
Age: The minimum age limit is 21 years and there is no upper age limit for ASRB NET.
Number of attempts: There is no cap on the number of attempts for ASRB NET.

ASRB NET Selection Process 2022

The selection process of the ASRB ICAR net is as follows:

ASRB NET Application: After the release of the ASRB NET notification, candidates need to apply online on the official website of ASRB. The application process includes registration, filling of basic details and online payment of application fee.
ASRB NET Admit Card: Successfully registered candidates are required to download their ASRB NET admit card online. The board does not send the admit card through the post.
ASRB NET Exam: ASRB NET is qualifying in nature. The exam is conducted in online mode. Candidates need to answer a total of 150 questions within two hours and each question carries one mark. There is a negative marking system in the exam of 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer. The questions in the exam are asked from the subject chosen by candidates while filling out the application form. The level of the papers shall be of master’s degree and ASRB NET question papers are made available in two languages- English and Hindi.
ASRB NET Result: Those who successfully obtain the cutoff marks are declared qualified in the exam. The ASRB NET qualified candidates are able to apply for lecturer or assistant professor posts when vacancies are released by different agricultural universities.
