The general requirements are given below:
- Get enrolled in a CRICOS-registered course and university.
- Get confirmation of enrollment letter from the university.
- Make accommodation arrangements, if under 18, submit relevant forms
- Submit adequate financial documents to show funding for living and studying in Australia.
- Show AUD 29,710 as part of living costs in Australia
- Have health insurance and cover for medical expenses

Applicants must show AUD 29,710 bank balance in order to get a student visa in Australia. This converts to INR 16,42,548. This cost basically covers - for living expenses, one year of tuition fees, return airfare to and from Australia to student's home country, and overseas student health cover.

If you are applying for Subclass 500 visa, it costed AUD 1,600 up till June 30, 2025. The fee has now increased to AUD 2,000. Applicants must check the conversions before submitting their Australia student visa applications.

Yes, the English test scores are required to apply for an Australian student visa if you come from a non-English-speaking country. PTE Academic is widely accepted by the Department of Home Affairs in Australia for all types of study, work and immigration purposes. Hence, yes, the PTE scores are required for the Australian student visa.
Candidates should note that PTE Academic is an English proficiency test that would be required by your university as part of their admission requirements/procedure. The Australian Student Visa would be based on your admission letter.

The cost of an Australian Student Visa (subclass 500) Base Application Charge is AUD 650 AUD 485 (if 18 and above) or AUD 160 (if under 18). The Australian Government does not require you to have a visa label on your passport to travel, enter, or remain in Australia. The Australian Student Visa process takes a maximum of 124 days prior to the commencement of your course. Also, you can travel to Australia a maximum of 90 days prior to the start of your course.
