You need to do some form of engineering or preferably automobile engineering. And then go to a foreign country study at a good University to get your master's and get a job. In India you can work at Tata or Mahindra provided you are from a very good University or based on your merit.

Automobile engineering applies engineering principles in overall design, maintenance, and operation of automobiles. They are responsible for the modification and maintenance of the equipment and engines that make up a vehicle. Those who are involved in the overall research, design and development of automobiles is referred to as Automobile Engineer where as those who concentrate solely in the design aspects of automobile is referred to as Automobile Designer. You need to have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial design, transportation design, or mechanical engineering with an automotive design concentration.

Unfortunately, no. The institute does not offer automobile design course. MITID and NID are the top colleges for automobile design.
