Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) was discontinued at the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU in April 2023. The cutoff rank required in the NEET UG exam by the general category students for admission to BAMS at the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU was 27823.

Both are two different fields, BAMS is professional Medicine course and BioTech is technical course. You need to decide what you want to do. In first you'll become a Doctor while in second a researcher. PG : both course offers you PG study. BAMS is a good option in its own ways. Biotech is still developing in India. There has been new developments and modern techniques which enable to improve quality of the products used in biotechnology whereas BAMS is settled in India

B.A.M.S. course is not offered in any branch of Government Medical College in Maharashtra. However, the government institute offering the course is Government Ayurved College and Hospital, Jalgaon, Maharashtra. 400 is a fine score. You can easily get the top government colleges for BAMS courses with a 400 score in NEET.
However, it also depends upon your rank. The last All India Rank for NEET at Government Ayurved College and Hospital in 2023, was 77245.

candidates can get admitted to colleges offering BAM programme through management quota with NEET examination scores. However, joining BAMS AYUSH through KCET is possible.

Admission to BAMS at Shri K. R. Pandav Ayurved College is not done based on the scores obtained in any entrance exam. To be eligible for the course, the candidate must have passed class 12th in a relevant stream from a reputed board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

BAMS through KCET without writing NEET is possible in 2024, and candidates can get admitted to colleges offering BAM programmes through management quota with NEET examination scores as well. However, according to the main requirement, admission to BAMS, as well as other medical courses like MBBS, BDS, and BHMS, requires qualifying for the NEET exam.
